Director of Technical Operations,
Research and Development

Graham is passionate about the world of industrial ceramics. With two degrees in the field of ceramics and over 50 years spent studying, researching, producing and applying his knowledge and expertise in the field, Graham devotes his vast knowledge to continually develop, refine and enhance the Ceramco product range.

Along with a specialism in fabrication processes and, in particular, isostatic compaction of industrial ceramics and refractories, as well as other fabrication techniques such as casting, vibro-compaction and machine pressing, Graham has 30 years experience in the development, manufacture and application of carbon bonded graphitic oxide ceramics based on the phenyl formaldehyde route of manufacture.

Having established and built Ceramco with wife Margaret into the thriving business it is today he’s proud of its continued expansion into the successful family run business it is today, with son Nicholas taking over as Managing Director.

Graham's other passions in life include a life long love judo, reading vast amounts on a wide range of topics and sailing the west coast of Scotland (weather permitting!).

After gaining 20 years experience working for the Ministry of Defence and a large corporate industrial engineering company and running his own successful engineering company, Nicholas joined Ceramco to take over as Managing Director.

His key focus is the transformation of the business to deliver the exciting new phase of expansion plans.

When not working at Ceramco Nick can be found spending time with his wife and their 2 young boys, usually participating in a sport of some sort.

After gaining a University Degree, and with a keen interest in mathematics, Margaret’s career started out working with computers in the very early days of their practical business application. Following a career break to raise a family Margaret trained and worked as a financial adviser but having decided to create Ceramco with Graham was able to put her skills to use running the finance, HR and business operations business side of Ceramco.

For nearly 20 years Margaret has been a pivotal part of Ceramco's stability and growth; juggling work; a growing family of grandchildren as well as finding time for her love of practical things which include gardening, upholstery and sewing.

David's career started out with British Steel Corporation, followed by a period as a Service Engineer with Flogates Ltd running trials and installations of ladle sliding gate systems in the UK and overseas and culminating in a career in technical/export sales with GR-Stein Refractories and SIG group.

David's main focus at Ceramco is to support the optimization of new and existing market opportunities.

A keen golfer David is a member of the New Golf Club, St Andrews (Established in 1902!)
